I think one can make a 100 year old language and still package with praticality along the way. You can not avoid tangents or corrections. The distinction between a 100 year language and others is not the tangents taken, but rather the appetite to make corrections back to the 100 year evolutionary path, along the way. More usage = more appetite. Arc risks losing momentum. At this pace users will move on to other short term candy apps that are easier to use.
